The Northeast Institute of Professional Studies (NeIPS) is a leading non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to transforming lives through skill development, livelihood creation, and community empowerment in the Northeastern region of India.

Founded by Shri Michael Thongni, a visionary leader and social reformer, NeIPS was born out of a deep realization of the employment crisis faced by the youth in the region. Witnessing the struggles of educated yet unemployed young people, Shri Michael Thongni envisioned an institution that would bridge the gap between potential and opportunity an organization that would empower individuals with the skills, confidence, and resources to shape their own futures.

Since its inception, NeIPS has remained steadfast in its mission to build a skilled, self-reliant, and empowered Northeast. The organization adopts a holistic approach to capacity building combining technical training, soft skills, and entrepreneurial development to prepare individuals for the demands of the modern workforce. NeIPS ensures that its trainees are not only employable but are also equipped to become job creators and leaders of change.

Beyond skill training, NeIPS has expanded its impact through initiatives that promote sustainable livelihoods and inclusive development. The organization actively promotes farmers’ products, develops rural infrastructure through CSR and Rural Haats, empowers persons with disabilities, supports Self-Help Groups (SHGs) through Micro Enterprise Development Programs (MEDP), and provides free schooling for underprivileged children.
